Summer stats show impact of pandemic on inventory

Total home sales in the Mid-Kansas region rose by 46.2% last month to 209 units, compared to 143 units in July 2019. Total sales volume was $29.9 million, up 61.5% from a year earlier. The median sale price in July was $128,000, up from $122,500 a year earlier. Homes that sold in July were typically on the market for 63 days and sold for 98.7% of their list prices.
The total number of active listings in the Mid-Kansas region at the end of July was 360 units, down from 554 at the same
point in 2019. This represents a 2.7 months’ supply of homes available for sale. In Reno County its much lower at 1.8 months’ supply.
AUGUST 2020
Total home sales in the Mid-Kansas region fell last month to 152 units, compared to 164 units in August 2019. Total sales volume was $19.6 million, down from a year earlier.
The total number of active listings in the Mid-Kansas region at the end of August was 318 units, down from 548 at the same point in 2019. This represents a 2.4 months’ supply of homes available for sale. The median list price of homes on the market at the end of August was $124,900.
