March continued to be a tight market across the area

In March, total home sales in the Mid-Kansas region rose by 7.4% last month to 131 units, compared to 122 units in March 2020. Total sales volume was $19.1 million, up 15.9% from a year earlier. The median sale price in March was $120,000, up from $97,450 a year earlier. Homes that sold in March were typically on the market for 60 days and sold for 98.5% of their list prices.
The total number of active listings in the Mid-Kansas region at the end of March was 169 units, down from 457 at the same point in 2020. This represents a 1.2 months’ supply of homes available for sale. The median list price of homes on the market at the end of March was $132,500. During March, a total of 153 contracts were written up from 125 in March 2020. At the end of the month, there were 209 contracts pending, compared to 187 at the end of March 2020.
