Market stats show strong August sales

Total home sales in the Mid-Kansas region rose by 14.0% last month to 147 units, compared to 129 units in August 2017. Total sales volume was $19.5 million, up 34.6% from a year earlier. The median sale price in August was $117,000, up from $103,500 a year earlier. Homes that sold in August were typically on the market for 76 days and sold for 98.0% of their list prices.

Sales in the McPherson area made huge gains over August 2017. Total home sales in McPherson and Marion Counties rose by 90.9% last month to 42 units, compared to 22 units in August 2017. Total sales volume was $7.2 million, up 138.6% from a year earlier. The median sale price in August was $169,000, up from $144,000 a year earlier. Homes that sold in August were typically on the market for 86 days and sold for 97.8% of their list prices.
