December 2020 stats; 2020 was a strong year for real estate market locally

Total home sales in the  Mid-Kansas region rose by 24.3% last month to 138 units, compared to 111 units in December 2019. Total sales volume was $19.9 million, up 46.6% from a year earlier.
The median sale price in December was $118,000, up from $97,000 a year earlier. Homes that sold in December were typically on the market for 73 days and sold for 98.2% of their list prices.

The total number of active listings in the Mid-Kansas region at the end of December was 240 units, down from 500 at the same point in 2019. This represents a 1.7 months’ supply of homes available for sale. The median list price of homes on the market at the end of December was $125,000. During December, a total of 76 contracts were written down from 84 in December 2019. At the end of the month, there were 105 contracts pending, compared to 98 at the end of December 2019.
